As mentioned in our blog on adding creativity to your fundraiser, students and parents are being asked to participate in fundraisers more than ever. This leads to a very real problem: fundraising burnout. When families are asked to participate in too many fundraisers, they simply tune out.

The solution? Stop putting all the pressure on parents and students. Tap resources such as community members without children, coworkers of parents and relatives in distant locations. After all, the reason most frequently cited for not contributing to a fundraiser in 2011 was simply, “I wasn’t asked.”

So ask. Think about new people you can reach – both physically and via social media – and find a creative way to reach them.
