Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City is the longest running event right down Broadway! Macy's annually provides an occasion to celebrate America and call forth Christmas. Spanning approximately two and one-half miles in length, and televised by NBC, your students can be part of an 85 year tradition and seen by an estimated 75 million viewers. As only a select group of bands will be able to perform, Brightspark will be proud to offer assistance with the registration process.

Macy's

Macy’s is one of the nation’s oldest department stores. The annual parade that the department store sponsors is a national institution and prized destination for performance groups across the country. Also, take in the store’s picturesque holiday window displays during your time in New York.

Broadway

New York City is one of the greatest theater destinations in the world. Whether it’s on or off-Broadway, there’s bound to be a show that you and your students will want to attend during their visit.

Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island

A gateway to millions of Americans, Ellis Island provides your student group a chance to witness the stories of many American immigrants. Stately poised nearby is the famous and beautiful Statue of Liberty.

Times Square

Times Square is the quintessential New York experience. Your group will be wowed by the elaborate billboards, bright lights and sounds of this famous square.

New York City Museums

Explore deep space exhibits, wildlife dioramas that are like mini safaris and a dinosaur collection your students will never forget. Also be sure to take in an afternoon amongst the world’s most famous pieces of art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

World Trade Center Site

No trip to New York is complete without a visit to one of the most important landmarks in the world. “Ground Zero” provides rich educational opportunities for every student tour group. The new Plaza and Memorial will be opening in the Fall of 2011.

New York City Observation Decks

Visit two New York icons for views your group will never forget. Student groups love the views, the history, and the architecture at the Empire State Building and the Top of the Rock at 30 Rockefeller Center.
