Italy is a destination of wonder and beauty. Your students can tour the towns where Leonardo da Vinci lived and worked or explore the Venetian streets which Shakespeare brought to life in Romeo and Juliet. Your student group will enjoy Italy’s mazed cities, alleys and marketplaces and take in the Italian culture, language and art. Visiting Italy offers exposure to culture and life.

Italy School Trip Highlights

Rome

One of the most historic cities in the world, Rome is home to ancient ruins, world famous art, and beautiful architecture. Enjoy an afternoon in one of the city's many piazzas with the locals, tour St. Peter’s Basilica, and stroll through the city's ancient streets with your student group.

Venice

Your student group can take in all of the treasures of the famous “floating city.” Venice is home to many archaeological wonders, artistic masterpieces and unique culture. Enjoy a gondola ride or an afternoon among the shops of Piazza San Marco.

Florence

In the heart of Tuscany, Florence provides a picturesque look into life during the medieval and renaissance ages. Full of art from the great masters, da Vinci, Botticelli, and Michelangelo, the museums within this city are full of treasures for your student group to discover.

Milan

Milan is an Italian city with ancient ties and modern innovations. One of the world’s most fashionable cities, Milan provides shopping experiences that are second-to-none.


Day 1 ~ United States * Milan

Fly overnight to Milan, Italy

 

Day 2 ~ Milan * Cremona * Venice

Visit the world’s largest collection of marble statues at the Milan Cathedral

Take in the luxurious sites along Via Monte Napoleone, the most important ‘street in fashion’ found in the Milan Fashion District

Travel on to the city of Cremona, known for its musical history and traditions, and home to world renowned musicians such as Guarneri and Stradivari

 

Day 3 ~ Venice

Take a guided tour of Venice; walking through Piazza San Marco, stopping into St Mark’s Basilica, checking the time at the Clock Tower and walking onto The Rialto, known for its markets and the Rialto Bridge and continue on to explore the Grand Canal by gondola

Travel to Murano and learn the art of glassblowing

 

Day 4 ~ Venice * Florence

Travel on to Florence and visit the Piazza della Signoria, the political hub of the city, the Medici Chapel and Uffizi Gallery, one of the finest art museums in the world, and visit the Ponte Vecchio, the “Old Bridge”, known for the shops built upon its edges

 

Day 5 ~ Florence * Assisi * Rome

Travel to Assisi and visit the Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi and the Cathedral of San Rufino

Take in the artistic works of Simone Martini and Pietro Lorenzetti

Continue the journey onto Rome

 

Day 6 ~ Rome

Take a guided tour of Vatican City and take in the exquisite sites of the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica

Experience the strong architecture of Rome when visiting the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine, as well as the Roman Forum and the Pantheon

Continue to experience Rome viewing the famous city fountains, statues and bridges
