San Jose

The capital city of Costa Rica, San Jose is the hub of Costa Rican culture. Explore the wonders of the city’s Gold Museum and enjoy an afternoon at one of the famous cafés drinking the country’s famous coffee.

Arenal Volcano

Arenal Volcano is an active and often-studied volcano within Costa Rica. While the activity within recent decades has been minor, ash columns, lava flow at its summit and underground rumblings can still be felt at this site.

Manuel Antonio National Park

Explore Costa Rica’s beautiful Pacific Coast at Manuel Antonio National Park. Your student group can enjoy a hike with squirrel monkeys, parakeets and iguanas or enjoy an afternoon of dolphin watching at the beach.

Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve

This famed cloud forest is home to over six ecological zones and 90% of the reserve consists of virgin forests. An important international research and conservation district, Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve will provide your students with a rare look into such a unique world.

Travel to Sarapiquí, known for bird watching and home to the Sarapiquí River where you will enjoy a Whitewater Rafting Tour

Travel to La Fortuna in Arenal, home of one of the world’s most active volcanoes

 

Day 3 ~ Arenal

Discover the wonders of Arenal Volcano National Park and hike along Los Tucanes Trail or Mirador El Silencio

Visit the Finca Educativa, a project started to show the importance of conservation

Enjoy a farm fresh lunch with locals

Visit La Fortuna Waterfall

Travel to Ecotermales Hot Springs and relax in the thermal waters nestled in amazing vegetation

 

Day 4 ~ Arenal * Monteverde - Abangaritos

Cross Arenal Lake to Monteverde

Enjoy a Canopy Tour inside the Monteverde Cloud Forest

Wander along the 1.9 mile trail known as the Hanging Bridges

Travel to Abangaritos, a small town next to La Ensenada Wildlife Refuge

 

Day 5 ~ Abangaritos

Day 6 ~ Abangaritos * Manuel Antonio

Visit Manuel Antonio National Park, one of the most famous in Costa Rica due to its wide variety of flora and fauna specimen

Travel onto Quepos and tour through the streets

 

Day 8 ~ Manuel Antonio * San José

Travel to the artisan’s town of Sarchí and visit the Eloy Alfaro Oxcart Factory, where they still use 19th century machines

Try your hand at the art of painting with locals

 

Day 9 ~ San José * United States
