Brightspark is excited to return for our fifth Presidential Inauguration where the Capitol's West Front is brought to life with a celebration of democracy as the President of the United States of America takes their Oath of Office. Watch as the President parades down Pennsylvania Avenue, a tradition whose roots reach back to Thomas Jefferson's second inauguration in 1805. The 2013 Presidential Inauguration is the opportunity of a lifetime for you and your students to bear witness to one of the most important events in the history and traditions of the United States of America.

Since 1805, the inauguration ceremony has been followed by the President parading down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House.

Presidential Monuments & Memorials
Presidential Monuments & Memorials

Washington, D.C.'s monuments are visually stunning and are an essential stop for your student group’s trip to Washington. A tour of the monuments and memorials may includes stops at the Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, and Franklin D. Roosevelt monuments.

The White House
The White House

The White House is a national treasure and fantastic historical and architectural landmark for your student’s to explore. “The People’s House” houses famous pieces of American art and provides a history lesson like no other for your group.

Smithsonian and Other Museums

See the Hope Diamond and Memphis Belle in the Smithsonian Institute Museums or spend an afternoon exploring: the National Air and Space Museum, Natural History Museum, National Holocaust Museum and the National Art Gallery.

Mount Vernon

Just outside of Washington is the famous and picturesque home of George Washington. Your student group can spend an afternoon exploring the historical artifacts and beautiful plantation.

War Memorials

Take time to explore the war memorials near the heart of Washington. Student groups can pay homage to past heroes at the Iwo Jima, World War II, Vietnam and Korean War Memorials.
